Alum returns with success story

It is highly rewarding when an alum returns with a success story.  Mahsa recently returned to update us on her activities and future plans. She transferred to other schools but the ridicule continued, so her family decided to withdraw her during her 8th grade year. We welcomed her to Willow Bend Academy and she completed middle school and all of high school in less than three years and was her class valedictorian. Upon graduation from Willow Bend Academy, she enrolled at University of Texas at Dallas and completed a bachelor’s degree, then entered graduate school at Harvard University where...

National Merit Commended Student

Congratulations to Michael “Corwin” Getty for being recognized as a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship program. Over 1,500,000 students completed the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude (PSAT) test in 2013.  Michael’s score is one of the top 34,000. We at Willow Bend Academy would love to take some of the credit for his accomplishment (he has been a student at Willow Bend Academy since middle school), but the bottom line is “He did it!” by committing to dedicate the time and effort to gain the most from the opportunities presented to him at school....
